BNP Paribas delivers daily investment data feed to UniSuper via PRISM360

BNP Paribas Securities Services has extended its Data PRISM360 platform to give UniSuper daily investment exposure data across its entire fund structure.

BNP Paribas' Securities Services business has rolled out expanded capabilities for its Data PRISM360 data management solution, with Australian superannuation fund UniSuper becoming the first client to receive daily investment exposure datasets across its full fund structure. The implementation, delivered in partnership with financial data software firm NeoXam, builds on an initial PRISM360 launch in December 2024 and a subsequent monthly ESG data feed.

The updated solution enriches every holding in the fund with classification, reference and market attributes, and delivers all data on a predictable daily cycle through data-sharing tools designed for seamless ingestion into UniSuper's internal environment. The result, according to BNP Paribas, is a single, consistent view of fund holdings that UniSuper's investment team can aggregate and analyse across multiple dimensions.

The solution

Dharmendra Dayabhai, Head of Portfolio Implementation and Liquidity Management at UniSuper, described the go-live as "an important milestone", noting that the model leans on NeoXam's technology platform, with BNP Paribas' Securities Services teams in Melbourne, Sydney and globally handling industrialisation and day-to-day support. "We have now laid a strong foundation for our journey towards better data-led decision making," Dayabhai said.

NeoXam chief executive Florent Fabre said the deployment demonstrates the platform's capacity to deliver an investment exposure book of record with an ESG overlay, enabling look-through of complex fund structures and exposure aggregation across multiple dimensions at any point in a fund's investment hierarchy.

BNP Paribas' Securities Services unit custodies USD 17.5 trillion in assets and administers USD 3.4 trillion as of 30 June 2026. UniSuper manages more than AUD 175 billion on behalf of over 688,000 members, predominantly in the Australian higher education and research sector.

Market context

The institutional investment data management market is experiencing consolidation pressure as asset owners demand richer, more granular datasets to support increasingly complex portfolios, ESG reporting mandates and regulatory disclosure obligations. Large custodians are competing with specialist data vendors and cloud-native fintech platforms to become the preferred data integration layer for buy-side clients.

For custodians such as BNP Paribas, wrapping data management capabilities around core custody and administration services is a key strategy for deepening client relationships and creating switching costs. NeoXam, with more than 150 clients across 30 countries and over EUR 25 trillion of assets processed daily through its platform, sits in a crowded field alongside rivals such as SimCorp, Charles River and a number of cloud-native challengers offering managed data services.

Australian superannuation funds are a particularly compelling target segment. Under the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority's Your Future, Your Super performance benchmarking regime, funds face escalating pressure to demonstrate investment performance and data governance rigour. Daily exposure data with ESG overlays directly supports the kind of attribution, liquidity monitoring and stewardship reporting that APRA and members increasingly expect.

Regulatory read-across

The ESG data dimension of this deployment carries growing regulatory relevance. Australia's Treasury has been consulting on mandatory climate-related financial disclosure rules, with phased obligations beginning in 2025 for large entities. Super funds of UniSuper's scale are expected to be in scope for early reporting cycles. A reliable, daily ESG-enriched exposure dataset positions UniSuper to meet those obligations with greater confidence than manually assembled or monthly-cadence alternatives.

BNP Paribas has not disclosed commercial terms, pricing or the contract duration for the UniSuper engagement. The partnership's next stated objective is to continue extending PRISM360 capabilities as UniSuper's data requirements evolve, though no specific roadmap milestones were announced.
