CyberFOX acquires Timus Networks to add SASE and ZTNA to platform
CyberFOX, a Tampa-based cybersecurity platform targeting small and mid-sized organisations, has acquired Timus Networks, a vendor offering a cloud-native Secure Access Service Edge stack with zero-trust network access. The deal, announced on 29 June 2026, adds secure web browsing, identity-first authentication, and adaptive policy enforcement to the CyberFOX portfolio alongside its existing privileged access management, password management, and DNS filtering products.
Financial terms were not disclosed. CyberFOX said the acquisition follows a growth financing round completed earlier in 2026, which the company said was intended to fund product development, AI initiatives, international expansion, and acquisitions of this kind.
The deal
David Bellini, chief executive of CyberFOX, said the acquisition was motivated by customer demand for vendor consolidation without compromising on capability. "Our customers are increasingly asking us to help them work with fewer vendors they can trust to deploy more and better security solutions," he said. "Timus has built exactly the platform we would have built ourselves."
The Timus platform replaces legacy VPN infrastructure with a zero-trust model that continuously monitors device posture, user behaviour, and risk signals rather than making a single access decision at login. It is positioned by the company as deployable in minutes rather than months, supported by 1 Gbps global gateways. Compliance reporting for HIPAA, SOC 2, and GDPR is built into the analytics layer.
Timus will continue to operate under its own brand within the CyberFOX portfolio in the near term. Existing partners and customers are guaranteed continuity of service, support, and contracts. Integration into the CyberFOX partner programme and product roadmap is planned across the coming quarters.
Eric Wood, owner of managed service provider Blue Fox Group, cited tangible security improvements from both products independently and described the combination as "the kind of consolidation that actually makes our lives easier without compromising on security."
Market context
SASE has become one of the most actively contested categories in enterprise network security. Gartner's SASE framework, which bundles wide-area networking with cloud-delivered security functions including ZTNA, CASB, and secure web gateways, has driven a wave of consolidation as legacy perimeter vendors scramble to offer converged alternatives. Large platforms from Palo Alto Networks, Zscaler, Fortinet, and Cisco dominate the enterprise segment, while the SMB tier has seen a cluster of newer entrants compete on deployment simplicity and pricing accessibility.
CyberFOX's move to absorb Timus rather than build its own SASE capability is consistent with a broader pattern in the managed security and MSP-channel market, where time-to-market and partner ecosystem depth frequently outweigh organic engineering spend. The company's stated emphasis on under-resourced IT teams gives it a relatively defensible niche, though the durability of that positioning depends on how quickly the larger vendors extend simplified packaging downmarket.
Regulatory read-across
The addition of HIPAA and SOC 2 audit-ready reporting signals deliberate targeting of regulated verticals, particularly healthcare and professional services. For CyberFOX's MSP channel partners, the ability to demonstrate framework compliance from a single console is a meaningful selling point as regulators in the UK, EU, and US increase scrutiny of third-party access controls. The EU's NIS2 Directive, which broadens mandatory cybersecurity obligations across critical-sector supply chains, is likely to increase demand for exactly the kind of continuous access monitoring Timus provides, particularly among European businesses reached through CyberFOX's stated international expansion plans.
The next milestone for investors and channel partners will be the pace of product integration and the disclosure of the growth financing terms, neither of which CyberFOX addressed in its announcement.
