ESET brings private threat-scanning solution to AWS Marketplace

ESET's Private Scanning Solutions are now purchasable and deployable via AWS Marketplace, targeting cloud-native security and DevOps teams.

ESET has listed its Private Scanning Solutions on AWS Marketplace, giving AWS customers a direct procurement and deployment route for the Slovak cybersecurity vendor's cloud-oriented malware scanning engine. The listing went live on 19 August 2026 and is accompanied by a one-month free trial.

The product is aimed at organisations that need to inspect inbound data flows before files are stored, shared, or processed inside cloud applications. ESET says the static scanning engine uses behavioural analysis to detect malware and zero-day threats "in milliseconds," integrating with storage platforms, upload portals, and application pipelines without requiring full endpoint agent deployment on every workstation or virtual machine.

Andrea Doyle, ESET's head of corporate solutions for NORAM, said the Marketplace listing is intended to cut friction from the procurement process. "Today's organisations expect security solutions they can evaluate quickly, purchase seamlessly, and deploy without delay," she said, adding that the goal is to help security and DevOps teams reduce time-to-value when embedding threat scanning into cloud applications.

The product

ESET Private Scanning Solutions operates as a standalone scanning layer rather than a traditional endpoint security suite. That architectural choice is relevant for enterprise buyers who run containerised workloads or serverless pipelines, where installing a conventional endpoint agent is impractical. The engine scales dynamically with workload volume, which is a stated design priority for high-throughput data ingestion scenarios such as document management, SaaS file-sharing platforms, and content delivery pipelines.

The company did not disclose specific throughput benchmarks, detection-rate figures from independent testing bodies, or pricing tiers in the release, beyond the existence of the free trial. Buyers evaluating the platform against alternatives will likely want to consult AV-Comparatives or SE Labs test results, which ESET regularly submits to, before committing.

Market context

AWS Marketplace has become an increasingly important commercial channel for cybersecurity vendors, partly because enterprise procurement teams can consume Marketplace spend against their existing AWS committed-use agreements, simplifying budget approval. Rivals such as Trend Micro, CrowdStrike, and Palo Alto Networks already offer scanning and detection capabilities through the catalogue, meaning ESET enters a competitive listing environment.

The broader market for cloud-native file scanning sits at the intersection of several regulatory and compliance requirements. Under the EU's NIS2 Directive, operators of essential services and digital infrastructure providers face tighter obligations around supply-chain security and data integrity controls; scanning inbound content before it enters a storage layer is one commonly cited technical control. Similarly, FedRAMP-authorised environments in the US require documented malware-inspection capabilities for data entering government-facing SaaS platforms, a segment where ESET has been working to expand its footprint.

ESET, headquartered in Bratislava and privately held, has historically been stronger in European enterprise and mid-market accounts than in North American hyperscaler-native deployments. The AWS Marketplace listing represents a deliberate push to close that gap by removing procurement friction for AWS-centric buyers, particularly in the United States, where the NORAM-focused quote from Doyle signals clear commercial intent. Whether the channel move translates into meaningful ARR growth will depend on ESET's ability to differentiate on detection accuracy and integration depth against incumbents that already have multi-year Marketplace presence.
