ASUS ExpertBook P5 G2 and B5 G2 go on sale in the US
ASUS has made its ExpertBook P5 G2 and B5 G2 series available for purchase through its US online store, pricing the Intel-powered P5 G2 from $2,979.99 and the AMD-based PM5 G2 variant from $2,629.99. The B5 G2, aimed at larger enterprise accounts, starts at $2,939.99. A convertible B5 Flip G2 with a 360-degree hinge will follow in the third quarter of 2026.
The new machines are the company's second-generation ExpertBook refresh and span 14-inch and 16-inch screen sizes across all three product lines. The P5 G2 ships with Intel's Core Ultra 7 356H (Series 3) processor, rated at up to 50 TOPS from its integrated NPU. The PM5 G2 opts for AMD's Ryzen AI 9 HX 470, which ASUS claims delivers up to 55 TOPS of neural acceleration. Both figures clear Microsoft's 40-TOPS threshold required for the Copilot+ PC designation, unlocking Windows 11 features such as Recall and live captions. The B5 G2 also uses the Intel Core Ultra 7 Series 3 and is certified to MIL-STD-810H for drop and vibration resistance.
Security posture
Enterprise security is positioned as a central differentiator across the range. ASUS bundles its ExpertGuardian suite, which it says achieves compliance with NIST SP 800-193, the platform firmware resilience standard that mandates firmware protection, detection and recovery capabilities. Supporting controls include discrete TPM 2.0, Intel Boot Guard, a dual-BIOS recovery system, chassis-intrusion detection, physical webcam privacy shutters and FIDO2 authentication. The B5 G2 additionally carries a smart-card reader and support for Absolute Persistence 2.0, a persistent endpoint-management agent commonly required in regulated industries and public-sector procurement frameworks. All three lines carry a three-year hardware warranty and one year of accidental damage cover.
On the collaboration side, the devices ship with ASUS's MyExpert AI platform, which bundles an AI chat assistant, a knowledge search tool, AI-assisted writing and AI noise cancellation for video calls. The B5 G2's release additionally highlights Dirac-enhanced audio processing and an AI-optimised camera pipeline.
Market context
The enterprise laptop market is in its most competitive hardware cycle in years. Intel's Core Ultra Series 3 and AMD's Ryzen AI 300 series both launched with NPU compute front-of-mind, and virtually every major OEM, including Lenovo ThinkPad, HP EliteBook and Dell Latitude, has refreshed its business-notebook lines with Copilot+-capable silicon in the first half of 2026. Pricing on the ExpertBook range sits at the premium end for mid-market business hardware, which positions it against Lenovo's ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 and HP's EliteBook Ultra G1i rather than the broader SME laptop market.
NIST SP 800-193 compliance is increasingly cited in US federal and state procurement requirements, and its inclusion in ASUS's marketing signals a deliberate push towards regulated-sector buyers, including defence contractors and financial institutions where firmware-level integrity assurance is now a baseline expectation rather than a premium feature. The EU's Cyber Resilience Act, which enters a compliance phase later this decade, places similar firmware-resilience obligations on connected products sold in Europe, suggesting these security specifications will carry relevance beyond the US launch market.
ASUS has not disclosed initial sales volumes, named channel partners or committed enterprise customers for the new range. Buyers should note that benchmark performance figures cited in the release reflect NPU-rated TOPS rather than independent application-level testing.
