Yodeck AI Agent brings natural-language control to digital signage
Yodeck, the cloud-based digital signage platform, has launched an AI Agent built on Anthropic's open Model Context Protocol (MCP), enabling users to manage screens, media libraries, playlists, schedules and user permissions through natural-language requests. The agent is compatible with a range of AI assistants and coding environments including ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf and Claude Code CLI.
The company, which says it serves more than 65,000 customers across 135 countries, positions the agent as a productivity tool for large teams managing multi-location screen deployments. A user can, for example, type a prompt such as "Push the updated playlist to all screens in the London Workspace" and have the action executed without navigating the management console manually. Yodeck says tasks that previously required multiple steps can now be completed in seconds rather than minutes, though it did not publish independent benchmarks supporting that claim.
What the agent does
The Yodeck AI Agent is scoped to read, create, update and manage supported objects within a user's account: media uploads, playlist construction, schedule adjustments, workspace configuration and team access controls. The company has built role-based guardrails into the agent so that users can only trigger actions within their existing permission set, which is a relevant consideration for enterprise administrators worried about credential misuse in AI-driven workflows.
Vangelis Mihalopoulos, CEO and co-founder, said the agent extends the platform's existing ease-of-use proposition to large-scale operations. "For large organisations managing hundreds of screens, locations and users, AI can take on more of the operational work behind a rollout," he said. "MCP gives us a powerful foundation to make that possible."
Market context
MCP is gaining traction as a de facto interoperability standard for connecting AI assistants to enterprise data sources and SaaS platforms. Since Anthropic open-sourced the protocol in late 2024, a growing number of SaaS vendors have shipped MCP servers to expose their APIs to LLM-based tooling, positioning natural-language interfaces as a mainstream alternative to traditional dashboards and CLI tools.
Digital signage is a relatively niche vertical within enterprise software, but the market is sizeable: a number of well-funded vendors compete for screen management contracts across retail, hospitality, corporate communications and the public sector. Yodeck competes with platforms such as Screenly, ScreenCloud and Rise Vision, as well as hardware-bundled offerings from display manufacturers. The addition of an MCP-native AI Agent differentiates Yodeck in a category where feature parity is otherwise high and price competition is intense.
From a security and governance standpoint, enterprises evaluating AI-driven management tooling will scrutinise how natural-language instructions are authenticated, logged and audited. Yodeck's built-in permission guardrails address part of that concern, but the company has not yet published a detailed security architecture document or indicated whether the agent's activity logs integrate with SIEM tooling. That gap may slow adoption among customers with formal SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance programmes.
The launch is described by the company as one of its first major AI product rollouts, suggesting further AI-facing features are in the roadmap. Whether Yodeck can extend the agent's capabilities to proactive recommendations or automated content scheduling based on audience analytics will be a key indicator of how deeply AI is integrated into the platform's core product strategy.
