Duos Technologies names Christopher DeAlmeida as CFO

The Nasdaq-listed edge data centre operator has appointed Chris DeAlmeida, a veteran of multiple public company CFO roles, to lead its financial strategy.

Duos Technologies Group (Nasdaq: DUOT) has appointed Christopher DeAlmeida as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective 24 August 2026. DeAlmeida succeeds Adrian Goldfarb, who is retiring after more than a decade with the Jacksonville, Florida-based company. The appointment follows what Duos described as a comprehensive search process and was flagged in a previously disclosed executive transition plan.

DeAlmeida brings more than 20 years of public company finance experience to Duos, spanning capital markets, SEC compliance, mergers and acquisitions, financial planning and investor relations. He most recently served as fractional CFO for a portfolio of founder-led and private equity-backed businesses. Prior to that, he held the CFO position at Wrap Technologies (Nasdaq: WRAP) from 2022 to 2024, and earlier served as CFO of Encore, where he oversaw two acquisitions and built out reporting and forecasting infrastructure. He also spent 11 years at Orion Group Holdings (NYSE: ORN), a specialty infrastructure construction company, holding roles including CFO, Treasurer and Executive Vice President. Over his career he has completed more than 15 buy-side acquisitions.

Chief executive Doug Recker said DeAlmeida's background in deploying capital for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects aligned well with where the business is heading. "As we continue to transform the Company into a scaled operator within the broader AI ecosystem, we believe a proven financial executive like Chris presents an ideal combination of industry experience and financial acumen to lead this next stage in our evolution," Recker said.

Strategic context

Duos has repositioned itself in recent years from a legacy rail and transport analytics business into a provider of modular edge data centre colocation facilities, primarily through its Duos Edge AI and Duos Technology Solutions subsidiaries. The company targets what it describes as Tier 3 and Tier 4 markets, positioning its edge infrastructure as a complement to hyperscale facilities for distributed AI and enterprise computing workloads. DeAlmeida's infrastructure capital-deployment background is a deliberate fit for a business that requires site acquisition, power procurement and hardware fulfillment at scale.

Duos is a small-cap operator competing in a segment that is attracting significant attention from larger players. The broader edge data centre market is drawing investment from tower companies, telecoms carriers and specialist operators, all seeking to place compute closer to end users as AI inference workloads grow. Capital intensity in this segment is high: land, power connections and pre-fabricated modules all require upfront spending, which places pressure on the balance sheet and makes CFO-level financial discipline a genuine operational variable.

Market and regulatory backdrop

The edge computing buildout is being shaped by power availability constraints, zoning and permitting timelines, and the growing need for data-residency assurances, particularly for enterprise customers in regulated sectors. Operators in this space are also watching US federal guidance on critical infrastructure security and potential export-control implications for AI hardware procurement. For Duos specifically, investor attention will likely focus on revenue visibility, utilisation rates at existing edge sites, and the pace at which the company converts customer demand into contracted recurring revenue.

DeAlmeida holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Duos did not disclose his compensation package or any equity grant terms in the release.
