Enercomp Solutions pitches indigenous Indian defence-drone platform

Indian defence-tech firm Enercomp Solutions is seeking investment for its vertically integrated drone and UAS platform, reporting 90% indigenous content.

Enercomp Solutions, a Pune-based drone and defence-technology company, is seeking external investment after completing Army and Air Force trials and recording roughly ₹8 crore in revenue for FY25-26. The company, which designs and builds unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for the Indian Armed Forces, is being marketed to investors by Mumbai-based Bestvantage Investments.

The firm claims more than 90% indigenous content across its full technology stack, which spans airframes, flight controllers, avionics, ground control station software, AI-driven autonomy, and GIS tools. Enercomp says it has no critical dependency on foreign components, a positioning that is commercially significant given India's push to reduce defence imports under its "Atmanirbhar Bharat" self-reliance programme.

Proven field credentials, early commercial scale

Enercomp cites a number of operational milestones in its investor pitch. These include high-altitude trials at 12,000 feet in Ladakh, rocket-launcher firing exercises with the 629 EME Battalion, and active deployment of its Kabootar logistics platform by the Indian Army. Beyond defence, the company says platforms have been delivered or demonstrated to the National Institute of Ocean Technology, BHEL, Southern Railway, and Pune Municipal Corporation.

FY25-26 revenue stood at ₹8 crore, with approximately ₹1 crore EBITDA. The investor materials project consolidated group revenue growing from ₹25 crore in FY26 to ₹341 crore by FY30, supported by expansion across drone manufacturing, a drone-as-a-service division, LidarTech, AI Labs, and an electronics marketplace. The company reports approximately 50% average year-on-year revenue growth over the past five years and an opening FY26-27 order book of ₹3 crore or more.

Market context and competitive landscape

India's indigenous drone sector has expanded rapidly since the government introduced production-linked incentive (PLI) schemes for drones in 2021 and progressively tightened restrictions on drone imports. A growing number of Indian startups, including ideaForge, Throttle Aerospace Systems, and Garuda Aerospace, are competing for defence and government contracts in a market that Enercomp estimates at roughly ₹27,000 crore domestically in 2025, rising to ₹70,000 crore by 2030. Global total addressable market figures of US$65 billion cited in the pitch deck are self-reported and have not been independently verified.

The defence UAS category is politically sensitive. India's Ministry of Defence has been expanding its Positive Indigenisation Lists, which progressively ban imports of defence items where domestic alternatives exist, creating a structural tailwind for companies with high indigenous content. At the same time, export ambitions will require Enercomp to navigate India's Strategic Trade Authorisation framework and, depending on target markets, bilateral defence agreements.

Enercomp's revenue base remains modest relative to its FY30 projections, and the investment opportunity is being marketed via an investor relations intermediary rather than through a named institutional lead. Potential investors will be looking for audited financials, a firmer order pipeline, and independent validation of the technical benchmarks before committing capital at scale.
