Globavend signs DramaBox deal to distribute AI-produced micro drama

Globavend's Loomi unit will distribute its AI-produced title "The Wolf King's Forbidden Bride" via DramaBox, which reports over 90 million registered users.

Globavend Holdings (NASDAQ: GVH), an Australian-listed e-commerce logistics and AI entertainment company, has signed a global distribution agreement between its digital entertainment subsidiary Loomi Entertainment Group and DramaBox, a dedicated micro drama streaming platform. The deal gives Loomi's second original AI-produced title, "The Wolf King's Forbidden Bride," access to DramaBox's reported user base of more than 90 million registered users across more than 200 countries and regions.

The agreement extends Globavend's dual-channel distribution model, combining its owned-and-operated Loomi: Short Drama platform with third-party streaming partners. Kai Man Fung, Chairman of Globavend, said the deal "substantially expands the commercial opportunity" for the company's intellectual property portfolio and "further validates" its strategy of building a scalable AI-powered entertainment business. The company produced "The Wolf King's Forbidden Bride" using Imaginary, its proprietary AI-powered cinematic production platform, which it says covers the full production pipeline from concept development through to distribution.

Context and content milestones

The DramaBox agreement follows Globavend's launch of "Buried Innocent," described as its first fully AI-produced original micro drama. The company said that title surpassed one million views on TikTok, which it cites as early validation of international audience interest. No subscription figures, retention data, or monetised revenue numbers were disclosed in the release, and the financial terms of the DramaBox distribution agreement were not made public.

DramaBox is listed by app analytics firm Sensor Tower as one of the highest-grossing dedicated short-drama applications by consumer spending globally, and has reported more than 100 million downloads on Google Play. Globavend cited independent research firm Omdia's projection that the global micro drama market will generate approximately US$11 billion in annual revenue, though the release does not specify a forecast year or Globavend's expected share of that figure.

Market landscape

The micro drama sector, characterised by vertically formatted episodes typically running two to ten minutes, has expanded rapidly in Asia and is gaining traction in English-language markets. A number of well-funded operators, including ReelShort and Shortmax, have pursued similar strategies of combining AI-assisted production with multi-platform distribution to reduce content costs and accelerate catalogue growth. The competitive dynamic increasingly favours platforms that can lower per-episode production costs while sustaining viewer engagement metrics sufficient to attract advertising and subscription revenue.

Globavend's positioning as an AI-native producer is notable given the broader industry pressure on generative AI content to demonstrate sustained audience retention rather than one-time view counts. For a NASDAQ-listed small-cap that also operates cross-border logistics across Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and mainland China, the digital entertainment pivot is a material strategic repositioning. Investors will be watching for disclosed revenue from content distribution alongside user acquisition and retention figures from the Loomi: Short Drama platform.

Commercialisation outlook

Globavend has indicated it intends to pursue additional third-party streaming partnerships alongside the DramaBox deal, while continuing to develop Loomi: Short Drama as a direct-to-consumer destination. The company's stated revenue channels span subscriptions, advertising-supported viewing, licensing, content distribution fees and future strategic collaborations, though none of these had been quantified as of this announcement.

The release carries standard forward-looking-statement disclaimers referencing risks described in the company's Form 20-F filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. The next material milestone for the market to assess will be whether Globavend can convert platform reach, via DramaBox's user base, into disclosed commercial revenue rather than view-count metrics alone.
