NorthStrive hires Deploy360 to test GPS-denied drone patent
NorthStrive Defense Tech, a subsidiary of NASDAQ-listed PMGC Holdings (ticker: ELAB), has signed a project services agreement with federal software firm Deploy360 to conduct independent technical validation of a patented GPS-denied autonomous navigation system. The company holds an exclusive option to licence the patent rights in the aerospace and defence field, secured in April 2026, and the validation work is intended to inform whether it exercises that option.
The technology, covered by US Patent No. 12,277,716 B2, is designed to enable cooperative navigation among unmanned aircraft systems operating in environments where GPS is unavailable or actively degraded. Deploy360 will use its D360-Sentinel AI platform to review source code, system architecture, documentation and dependencies, and will run controlled simulation-based tests. Critically, the current scope excludes field testing, flight testing, and hardware procurement. Any real-world operational validation would require a separately approved scope of work.
Validation timeline
The project is scheduled to begin on 3 August 2026. Deploy360 is expected to deliver an initial technical discovery summary by 24 August, an interim progress update around 21 September, and a final validation report by 12 October. NorthStrive has stated explicitly that completion of the validation does not obligate it to exercise the licence option or to proceed to commercialisation.
Deploy360 brings relevant pedigree to the engagement. The Virginia-based firm's publicly disclosed past performance includes software modernisation work for US Space Force, the Kessel Run programme, US Central Command, US European Command, and special operations organisations. Founded in 2009, the company specialises in AI-powered DevSecOps, edge computing, secure software delivery, and digital forensics across classified and unclassified environments.
Market context
GPS-denied navigation is an area of intensifying investment across both defence and commercial drone markets. Conflicts in which GPS jamming and spoofing have become routine have accelerated military procurement interest in inertial navigation, computer-vision-based positioning, and cooperative multi-vehicle approaches. A number of well-funded startups and established defence primes are pursuing similar capabilities, making independent technical credentialling a meaningful differentiator when approaching government procurement offices.
