Ask4Support launches AI readiness service for UK enterprises
Ask4Support, an Oxfordshire-based managed service provider founded in 2011, has launched an AI readiness service aimed at helping organisations adopt artificial intelligence tools securely and with appropriate governance in place. The service covers tool selection, security controls, and user adoption planning, and is designed to work across a range of platforms including Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude.
The company, which serves clients in the UK, US, Europe, and the Far East across both the public and private sectors, says the service is intended to help organisations move beyond the marketing noise around AI and identify practical deployment opportunities. According to managing director Simon Bayley, safe and secure adoption requires more than picking a tool.
"Our AI Readiness service has been designed to help organisations cut through the hype," Bayley said. "We work alongside our clients to identify practical opportunities where AI can improve efficiency, enhance customer experiences and support growth, all while ensuring security and governance remain a priority from day one."
Ask4Support has not disclosed pricing for the service, the number of clients already enrolled, or specific governance frameworks it applies.
Market context
The AI readiness and governance advisory space has grown rapidly in 2025 and 2026 as enterprises moved from AI pilots to production deployments and began encountering the compliance, data-handling, and security complications that accompany scale. A significant number of MSPs, IT consultancies, and specialist advisory boutiques now offer some form of AI readiness assessment, meaning Ask4Support enters a crowded field. Larger competitors include the advisory arms of major systems integrators, as well as dedicated AI governance startups offering automated policy and control tooling.
For smaller and mid-market organisations without in-house AI or security expertise, however, the MSP model carries a practical advantage: an existing relationship with the organisation's IT estate, prior knowledge of its data architecture, and accountability through a managed-service contract rather than a point-in-time assessment.
Regulatory read-across
The timing is relevant. The EU AI Act is now in force, with obligations on high-risk AI system deployments phasing in through 2026 and 2027. UK organisations with European operations or customers need to understand how the Act's requirements for transparency, human oversight, and risk classification apply to tools such as Copilot and generative AI assistants embedded in business workflows. Separately, the UK's own approach to AI regulation remains sector-led and guidance-based for now, though the government has signalled a future statutory framework. Governance readiness is therefore not a static destination but an ongoing compliance posture, which plays directly to the managed-service model Ask4Support is positioning against.
For organisations in regulated sectors such as financial services, healthcare, or critical national infrastructure, frameworks including ISO 42001 (AI management systems) and NCSC guidance on secure AI deployment add further layers that an AI readiness service would need to address.
