Omatic and Kindsight integrate to unify nonprofit fundraising data
Omatic Software has announced a new integration between its Omatic Cloud platform and Kindsight's Ascend fundraising CRM, built on Salesforce. The connection is designed to automate the flow of gift, pledge, and donor data from external platforms into Ascend, removing the manual spreadsheet exports and reformatting work that can delay reporting for nonprofit advancement teams.
The integration addresses a persistent friction point in the nonprofit technology stack. Fundraising operations typically pull data from several sources simultaneously: email marketing tools, online giving forms, event registration pages, volunteer management systems, and finance platforms. Each stores records in its own format, and without an automated bridge, staff must reconcile those discrepancies by hand before data can be acted upon in a CRM.
The integration in detail
Omatic Cloud maps and transforms incoming data to match Ascend's schema before transfer, preserving fields that often get stripped during manual imports: gift designations, appeals, tribute details, and constituent identifiers. The company says this matters most during high-volume giving campaigns, such as Giving Day events, where processing lags can delay both gift acknowledgement and real-time reporting.
Brian Alster, chief executive of Omatic, said: "Every gift that comes in through an outside platform carries details that matter. But often, those details drop off by the time a gift reaches a CRM. This integration means Ascend users get the full picture of supporters automatically."
Hemant Kashyap, chief product officer at Kindsight, noted that the integration is intended to extend Ascend's role as a single source of truth outward to the broader technology ecosystem, so that incoming data arrives "complete and ready to act on, instead of sitting in a spreadsheet waiting to be cleaned up."
Neither company disclosed pricing for the integration, customer adoption figures, or named reference clients in the release.
Market context
The nonprofit CRM market has consolidated steadily over the past decade, with Salesforce-native platforms gaining ground as charitable organisations seek to modernise operations and reduce reliance on legacy on-premise systems. Kindsight, which was formed through a series of acquisitions and cites more than 4,500 client organisations across education, healthcare, and the wider nonprofit sector, sits in the upper tier of that market alongside Blackbaud and a number of Salesforce-ecosystem specialists.
Integration middleware for nonprofits is a narrower but growing category. Omatic's positioning as a purpose-built connector for social-impact organisations distinguishes it from general-purpose integration platforms such as MuleSoft or Workato, though those vendors increasingly serve verticals beyond commercial enterprise. The addition of Ascend to Omatic Cloud's integration library broadens the platform's reach at a time when funders and boards are placing greater scrutiny on operational efficiency and data governance within charitable organisations.
From a compliance standpoint, organisations handling donor data at scale face obligations under GDPR for UK and European supporters, as well as US state-level privacy frameworks. Centralising records in a single CRM through an automated pipeline can reduce the risk of stale or inconsistent data appearing across systems, which matters for both regulatory reporting and donor trust. Neither Omatic nor Kindsight referenced specific certifications such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 in the announcement.
