Pasqal Holding SA has completed its business combination with Bleichroeder Acquisition Corp. II, a special purpose acquisition company, and is set to begin trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker "PSQL" on 28 August 2026. The transaction leaves the Paris-headquartered quantum computing company with approximately $360 million of cash at closing, which it intends to deploy across manufacturing, technology development, cloud platform expansion and global commercial operations.

Bleichroeder shareholders approved the deal on 25 August. Following a series of mergers between the two entities, Pasqal Holding SA is the surviving company and will continue to operate under the Pasqal name. Warrants will trade separately under the symbol "PSQLW".

The deal and what the capital will fund

Chief executive Wasiq Bokhari described the listing as an inflection point rather than an endpoint. "Today is not a finish line; it is an acceleration point," he said. "Pasqal was built to take neutral-atom quantum computing from foundational science to industrial-scale deployment."

The company enters public markets with seven quantum processing units (QPUs) already deployed and three more in production, together supporting more than 25 commercial and research applications across energy, financial services and materials science. Named customers include Saudi Aramco, Crédit Agricole CIB and LG Electronics; partnerships with NVIDIA and IBM, including membership of the IBM Quantum Network, are also cited. Systems are available both on-premises and through cloud access globally, and the company says they are compatible with standard data-centre environments, which it positions as a practical differentiator against architectures requiring more exotic operating conditions.

Pasqal was founded in 2019 on research by Nobel Prize-winning physicist Alain Aspect, whose work on quantum entanglement underpins the neutral-atom approach. The company is headquartered in France and has operations across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Market context and competitive positioning

The Nasdaq listing places Pasqal alongside a small number of publicly traded pure-play quantum computing companies, including IonQ, which uses a trapped-ion architecture, and Rigetti Computing, which is superconducting-based. Each architecture carries different scaling trade-offs: neutral-atom systems, which use laser-trapped rubidium or caesium atoms as qubits, are generally seen as well suited to analogue quantum simulation workloads and are regarded by proponents as a credible path toward fault-tolerant gate-based computing on a single hardware platform.

Investor appetite for quantum equities has been uneven. Several earlier SPAC-route listings in the deep-tech sector faced post-merger share-price pressure as companies struggled to convert research milestones into commercial revenue. With $360 million on hand, Pasqal has a longer runway than many peers managed at equivalent stages, though the quantum computing sector as a whole remains pre-revenue at scale; most income today comes from cloud-access arrangements, government research contracts and consortium partnerships rather than volume QPU sales.

Regulatory and standards read-across

A US listing subjects Pasqal to SEC reporting obligations and Nasdaq corporate governance standards, adding a layer of public disclosure that will make its technology and commercial progress more visible to buyers, partners and policymakers. The company's Franco-European origin also means it will navigate EU export-control frameworks as it scales QPU shipments, alongside US export-control rules administered by the Bureau of Industry and Security, which have become increasingly attentive to advanced quantum hardware and components.

Fault-tolerant quantum computing, the long-term goal stated in the release, remains a horizon target for the entire industry. The near-term milestones that investors and enterprise buyers will watch include named first-revenue contracts from current deployment partners, published qubit-fidelity and error-rate benchmarks, and concrete timelines for the next generation of QPUs beyond the ten currently deployed or in production.
