ASUS and ROG claim 10 Best Choice Awards at Computex 2026

ASUS and its gaming sub-brand ROG collected 10 Best Choice Awards at Computex 2026 in Taipei, the trade show's marquee product honours. The haul included the top-tier Golden Award, a Sustainable Tech Special Award, and eight Category Awards spanning gaming hardware, AI computing, creative tools, and networking.

The Golden Award went to the ROG G1000 Edition 20, a full-tower gaming desktop powered by AMD's Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor and an ROG Astral RTX 5090 graphics card, with 128 GB of DDR5 memory. ASUS describes the chassis as the first prebuilt gaming PC to feature its AniMe Holo holographic fan system, which projects animations through the front panel. A Tri-zone airflow design physically isolates cooling circuits for the CPU, GPU, and PSU, and a 420 mm all-in-one cooler is claimed to reduce air intake temperatures by up to 16 degrees Celsius relative to a standard configuration.

Sustainability and enterprise hardware

The Sustainable Tech Special Award went to the ExpertBook Ultra, a business laptop weighing 0.99 kg. ASUS says the chassis uses 90 per cent post-industrial recycled magnesium-aluminium alloy alongside 30 per cent post-consumer recycled plastics and fully recycled rare-earth magnets. The machine runs on Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 processors with Intel vPro management, and ASUS claims NIST SP 800-193 firmware resiliency compliance for enterprise security.

Notably, ASUS says the ExpertBook Ultra is among the first commercial laptops to adopt the Digital Product Passport (DPP) and Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) frameworks. Both are central to the EU's Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), which is currently being phased in and will eventually require manufacturers selling into the European market to publish machine-readable lifecycle and environmental data. Adoption ahead of the mandatory timeline is a competitive signal directed at procurement teams in regulated industries, where ESG reporting obligations are already tightening.

Market context

Computex Best Choice Awards carry genuine weight as a trade benchmark: the judging panel comprises Taiwanese media and industry analysts, and the Golden Award in particular tends to attract attention from component buyers and system integrators across Asia-Pacific. For ASUS, a 10-award clean sweep at a show dominated by its home-market rivals reinforces its position across multiple product tiers simultaneously.

The broader competitive picture at Computex 2026 saw several vendors competing in overlapping categories. In AI desktop computing, the ASUS Ascent GX10, a compact AI supercomputer, picked up a Category Award in the AI Computing and Tech segment, a category attracting growing interest from enterprise buyers looking to run inference workloads on-premises rather than routing traffic to hyperscaler APIs.

On the gaming side, ASUS faces sustained competition from Alienware, MSI, and Razer at the premium end of the desktop and laptop market. The ROG brand has historically differentiated on thermal engineering and software integration; the AniMe Holo system extends that into aesthetic personalisation, a segment that commands price premiums in the collector and enthusiast market.

All award-winning products are on display at the ASUS and ROG booths in Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 through 5 June 2026. Availability and pricing for new products were not disclosed in the release.
