Oklahoma DOT adopts ProStar PointMan for underground utility mapping
ProStar Holdings has announced that the Oklahoma Department of Transportation has adopted its PointMan cloud and mobile mapping platform across departmental operations. The rollout follows a completed pilot programme and covers the management of underground utilities within state rights-of-way throughout Oklahoma.
ProStar, which trades on the TSXV and OTCQX under the tickers MAPS and MAPPF respectively, positions PointMan as a precision mapping solution that replaces paper-based processes with connected, data-driven workflows. The company also offers LinQD, an enterprise integration platform for unifying legacy and emerging infrastructure systems, though ODOT's adoption centres on PointMan.
The deal
Page Tucker, founder of ProStar, said the ODOT contract represents a significant milestone and cited what the company describes as a growing national problem with unknown buried utility locations. "I believe the entire construction industry is reaching a pivotal tipping point as not knowing where utilities are buried has become a national issue that affects stakeholders involved in infrastructure construction and maintenance," Tucker said, adding that the company is in active discussions with several other state transportation agencies.
ProStar did not disclose the contract value, the number of licences deployed, or the duration of the agreement. The release also did not name any performance benchmarks from the ODOT pilot, nor specify which of ODOT's operational divisions are using the platform.

Underground utility mapping is an increasingly competitive segment within the broader geospatial and field-mobility software market. The category has gained urgency as ageing infrastructure, accelerating construction activity and high-profile utility strike incidents push regulators and public agencies toward more rigorous asset management. In the United States, the Common Ground Alliance estimates that a utility is damaged every few minutes during excavation, making accurate subsurface data a safety-critical rather than merely operational concern.
ProStar competes in a field that includes specialist geospatial software vendors, GIS platform providers such as Esri, and a range of mobile field-data capture tools. Larger enterprise asset management platforms from vendors including IBM Maximo and Hexagon also address adjacent infrastructure management use cases. ProStar's differentiation rests on precision mapping of subsurface assets in a cloud-native, mobile-first form factor, backed by a portfolio of 16 issued patents across the United States and Canada.
Regulatory read-across
US federal infrastructure spending under successive funding programmes has pushed state departments of transportation to modernise asset records and improve compliance with the American Public Works Association's Standard Specifications and state-level 811 dig-safe regulations. Accurate utility mapping is increasingly a precondition for federal grant eligibility on major highway projects, which gives SaaS vendors in this space a structural tailwind as ODOT and its peers seek to modernise records management.
ProStar's growing customer base, which the company says includes Fortune 500 firms, engineering consultancies and multiple state DOTs, positions it as a credible specialist, though the company remains small-cap and has not disclosed aggregate recurring revenue figures. Additional named state DOT contracts would be the clearest near-term indicator of commercial momentum.
