VelocityEHS named Leader in Verdantix EHS Software 2026 quadrant

VelocityEHS secured a perfect score for ergonomics technology in Verdantix's annual ranking of 23 EHS software providers.

VelocityEHS has been named a Leader in the Verdantix Green Quadrant: EHS Software (2026), placing it among the top tier of an assessment covering 23 prominent environmental, health and safety software vendors. The Chicago-based company received a perfect 3.0 score for its ergonomics technology, which Verdantix assessed across market momentum, technical depth and functional breadth.

The recognition centres on VelocityEHS's AI-enabled ergonomics tooling. Its Ergonomics AI Hands and Wrists Assessment, part of the company's Industrial Ergonomics solution, uses computer vision to identify grip types and exposure patterns linked to repetitive hand and wrist work, reportedly returning risk assessment results within minutes. A separate AI-powered 3D motion capture capability analyses video footage to flag high-risk postures and body movements. Both tools are positioned as reducing the manual effort traditionally associated with ergonomics assessments, while providing repeatable, consistent outputs for EHS practitioners.

What the tools do

Chief AI Officer Dr Julia Penfield said the aim of VelocityEHS's AI investment is to give safety professionals better information sooner, not to displace human judgement. "The goal isn't to replace the expertise and judgment of the people responsible for protecting workers," she said. "It's to give them better information sooner, reduce time spent on manual analysis and help them concentrate their expertise on impactful risk reductions."

Chief Product Officer Scott Epstein pointed to the company's broader platform ambitions, noting that specialist depth in areas such as ergonomics and chemical management is being paired with a more unified experience across the full Accelerate platform. VelocityEHS says its platform currently serves over 10 million workers globally and holds both ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 Type II attestation, credentials that matter increasingly to enterprise procurement teams running security reviews.

Market context

The EHS software market is consolidating around a small number of broad platforms capable of spanning safety, environmental compliance, contractor management and sustainability reporting in a single data architecture. Verdantix's own commentary in the release notes that core EHS functionality is becoming standardised, pushing vendors to compete on AI capabilities, connected data and deeper specialist modules.

VelocityEHS competes in this space alongside vendors including Intelex, Cority, and SAP's EHS management suite, as well as a cohort of point-solution providers focused on specific disciplines such as chemical management or incident reporting. The ergonomics niche is notably less contested at the AI layer, and a perfect score from Verdantix in that category represents a defensible differentiator, at least in the near term, as rivals build out comparable computer-vision tooling.

The EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive and the UK's evolving ESG disclosure frameworks are driving enterprise demand for EHS platforms that can surface auditable, consistent risk data across jurisdictions. Vendors with certified security postures and integrated sustainability modules are better placed to win in procurement processes where legal and compliance teams have a veto. VelocityEHS's SOC 2 and ISO 27001 credentials, combined with its Verdantix Leader status, strengthen its positioning in those evaluations.

What comes next

VelocityEHS said it will continue investing in ergonomics and chemical management as differentiated verticals within the platform. The company also disclosed recent recognition in Fast Company's Best Workplaces for Innovators 2026 and a first-place ranking in the G2 Fall 2026 Grid Report for EHS software, suggesting an active external-validation strategy ahead of what may be a funding or M&A event. No financial terms, customer numbers or revenue figures were disclosed in the release.
